How Many Times a Week Should You Go for Physical Therapy?

Health is perhaps the most important thing in life. No matter how much money you have, no matter how much you own or no matter how big and happy your family is, nothing is of value if you live an unhealthy life. Indeed, the blessings of life can only be fully realized and taken advantage of if a person is healthy and fully fit otherwise there is no resentment in the material possessions. A lot of people ignore their health in the pursuit of gaining more out of life. Some have back aches and need physical therapy for back pain but postpone it untill they feel like they just can’t bear it anymore. For some, business and work are more important and therefore they spend a large chunk of their time focusing solely on work without realizing the negative impact it might be inducing on them physically as well as mentally. For others the same might be the case when it comes to family. For such people, spending on the health and the happiness of the family is what matters. Having said that, mostly even such people ignore matters when it comes down to their own personal health. Hence, it must be understood that in most scenarios, personal health must come first whether it be physical or mental.

Physical Therapy is one such act that completely relieves a person from any sort of stress or injuries that might be induced by the body. People go for Physical Therapy either when they are injured or when they are burnt out or worn out completely. Physical Therapy is a good remedy for stress as well as other physical issues particularly related to the human body.

How many times a week should you go for Physical Therapy?

Visits to the Physical Therapist are not set and standard. The number of times one should visit a Physical Therapist depends completely on the condition of the patient or the seriousness of the problem at hand. In case of physical therapy for back pain, it is advised that the visits to the therapist can be restricted and limited to only once per week. However, if the pain becomes more serious than anticipated the number of visits can be increased naturally as per requirement and as per convenience of the patient. For someone who has inflicted serious injuries and needs to recover very soon should visit the therapist twice a week at least. In a case where the injuries are far more grave and serious and the Physical Therapist is working to make the patient feel his/her legs again and make the patient mobile again, the visits to the Therapist will naturally increase. In such a case, it is advised that the therapist should check the patient almost on a daily basis if the need arises. All in all, the number of visits per week depend totally upon the Physical Therapist and the advice of the doctor that is dealing directly with the patient. It is better to take the advice of a certified professional before beginning the Physical Therapy sessions because you don’t want your body to become overly relaxed or too dependent.
